Warbird Information Exchange

Cracked open my archives on the PV-2s....they have a little dust on them....I am looking for pictures of PV-2 37107...N7261C...15-1073....This would be the Harpoon that was owned by Tim Savage....Would be interested in any pics of this bird past or present. I believe that this airframe is still in Jerome, Idaho...not certain though..

Also, the same with 84060...N86493....The old CAF Waukesha, Wi PV-2.

I've got plenty of prints of the "Poon" from my days with the Wisconsin Wing. Is there any in particular that u r looking for? The Wing should have concentrated on fundraising and sent it in sections to Tab-Air for restoration of the major assemblies. (IMHO) The minor stuff, (radios, turrets, racks, etc., could have been done later after it was flying. The biggest problem was the main spar, and the way the replaced section was cobbled back in. The Wing had a hard time finding an A/P that was ok with some of the work done previously. Besides the rent that was spent for the hangar over 20 years, (the Wing did not own it), there was enough money that went thru that place to have had it professionally restored. After-all, it did fly in to Waukesha originally, albeit on a ferry permit. Operating it, after restoration, would have been difficult to fund. They have since used the money from the proceeds of the sale to buy a PT-26 "Cornell". A nice aircraft to say the least. In the end it boiled down to a leadership issue, or lack thereof. The new leadership is trying to operate the Wing like a business, which seems to be working better.

Sorry to hear the way events turned out in Wis. I have found out myself the meaning of "the sad turn of events".....As far as pictures go...Would you have pics of when it first arrived in Waukesha, pics of the demating of the centersection would be very interesting, different stages of your wings restoration...etc...
