In the Yank's F6F thread, a couple folks speculated that the F6F-3 under restoration was 65V. Even though I said it wasn't, I gave Bill a call to ask and check in on him. Bill assured me that he still has the F6 on it's still on his farm. Bill's a great guy and I've known hin for almost 35 years. He invited me to come up and see him after the first and I will do so. A few folks over the years have tried to get the a/c frown him like Paul Allen ie Jeff Thomas and Gerry Beck with no luck. The future may hold a change in that regard but I said enought already.

Hello Jack
As the person that started the inquiry, thank you for clearing this up. I have wondered for years about the condition and how complete Bill's F6F project is. When you visit could you get some pics? Do you know off hand what he has to work with or has gotten done over the years?

Bill has 2 2800s, new prop, extra replacement wings, replacement cowlings, tail feathers, 3 hulks for parts and fittings ect. All a good shop needs to make it go!

does two 2800s and 3 hulks mean there is enough for two birds?
