The Evergreen Air and Space Museum A6M3 Zero has been safely moved from Colorado to Everett, WA where Legend Flyers will complete the restoration.

What is the history of this Zero prior to Evergreen acquiring it?

Pat,

It was assigned to the Japanese Air Group 252 and had been flying from Taroa, Maloelop Atoll in the Marshall Islands since March of 1943, it was recovered from there in 1991.

Cheers

I did a whole article on it for Classic Wings some years back....it's a composite of three wrecks....I'll tell you what issue when I get back to Greeley.

I understand it's actually an A6M3 "Hamp," the Zero with the squared-off wingtips, and is being restored as such. Anyone know what kind of markings they're planning to paint her in?

Steve,

It is going to be painted as it was found, a "Presentation" model, with standard grey/green finish similar to FS26350.

Cheers
