I saw on the CAF websight that Fifi is heading to Arizona tomorrow. Bull Head City, Phoenix and back to Midland. I guess the new engines must be working good.

Dave Miller flew it yesterday, as FE, on a test flight with no problems. Bull Head City AZ, then Deer Valley AZ, and then to Midland TX for a few days for the CAFs "Hops & Props".

It was only a few months ago that Fifi was at Deer Valley. I wonder why the return? Maybe they didn't have enough time to fly all the Phoenix crowd last time! Look forward to paying her a visit next week.

Sentimental Journey and Maid in the Shade will be there with FIFI at Deer Valley.

Combination of things,
Reception was good
Stop was thrown together at last minute with no notice last time, much more advance PR being done this time
Support the rest of the CAF
Might as well do something on the way through Phoenix :D

Just confirmed today that we will also be at Barksdale in early May. Will need to update website in a bit.

Come visit her along the way. Engines were given a very thorough inspection and the maintenance folks were very happy with what they saw. Ambitious year including: Andrews AFB, Long Island, MAAM, Kansas City, Chicago area (still working on this) little airshow in WI and on and on....

Check out our new website and book a ride if we are in your area!

0800 departure from ADS don't know where the fuel stop will be, but do in AZ around 1 for media stuff.

Keep fingers crossed for good weather.

Steve you should head to Midland for Hops and Props and see the girl fly up close.

Fuel stop?

You need to refuel to fly her from Texas to Arizona? Are you serious?

There are weight restrictions on the runways and taxiways at their home base (Addison). They can't operate from KADS with a full load of fuel.

I think they stop in Midland for fuel because of the price is right.

That is more along the lines I was thinking. I know the airlines perform a similar act. They will put in minimum, plus a reserve and top off at the cheaper destination. If they can.

Safe travels!

Love your bird! :drinkers:

So did my father. Never had a negative thing to say about the 29. The 24, was another story. The B-17 (actually the Stearman) was his all time favorite aircraft. But he certainly loved the B-29. I do not think he would take the Stearman to 24K feet over Tokyo to drop bombs

Mission scrubbed for TODAY. IFR conditions prevailing in Addison today and weather predicted along route. We do not fly the B-24 or B-29 in IFR conditions.

Will try again tomorrow.
