Nice. I was not even aware that Curtiss built any P-47's. Learn something new here everyday.

Curtiss built about 354 P-47G's. A very few made it to a theatre because it suffered from the same sort of malaise that afected the rest of CURTISS and the quality was far less than what was hoped for.

1, the leading edge of the control surface gives it away.

I got it on #1 (although to be honest I didn't realize it was a Curtiss-built Jug.)

I had always read that all the P-47Gs were kept Stateside for training use. I didn't know any actually made it into combat.

Yep ~ formerly "lil demon" ~ I don't know when it will be ready to fly.

For the record ~ the clues were the registration in pic no 2 and ..... and ...... take another look at the label in pic 3 and read the first word written in ink :D

It was seeing the blue tag yesterday that gave me the idea for this post

I sat in this aircraft a couple of times when Ray Stutsman owned the plane. It was the first P-47 I had ever sat in, and the only Razorback to date. It was beautiful!
