Technically I guess this is a revival of an older thread from a couple of years back with Ken, 2nd AF, and others- anyway, I'm new to the group, and I hope I'm not in violation of protocol yet.

My family bought the site of the old Tuskegee Army Airfield a couple of years ago, and we have been trying to reclaim the remains from the grip of Mother Nature. We have cleared the street grid, removed the debris left from some of the post war businesses, and excavated the building foundations that were still intact.

We plan to repost street signs amd possibly erect some markers pointing out various building locations, to include pictures of the specific location- basically something that would allow a 'then and now' viewing perspective.

I would greatly appreciate any help locating 'action' pictures taken on the base while it was in service. I can't access the pictures that were posted in the earlier thread, but it could well be a case of operator error. I would invite the moderator's (or anyone else's) opinion as to whether to use PM for correspondence, or if I should post a business contact. I'll be glad to cover any cost associated with copies, mailing, ect., if necessary.

The remote location precludes leaving the site open to the general public, but we do try to provide access to people who have historical, professional, or otherwise legitimate interest in the site, which would include any participants of this forum.

I've enjoyed looking through the WIX site, both from a TAAF perspective, and as someone who rode shotgun on A-6 Intruders/Flying Drumsticks for five years.

I am EXTREMELY HAPPY to read your post, JR. It's great to hear that y'all are preserving the remaining parts of the base for the future. When I get time I'll post the photos I have and I'll be sending you a P.M. soon.

Thanks for all the hard work,
Scott

JR Scout,

These are three pictures that you've probably already seen of Tuskegee. Sorry about the quality--they're photos of photos and don't do the originals justice. The original copies are at AFHRA in the TAAF Historical Record files.
