I went to their website to try to order plans to build one of the repo scale P-47s, they're not answering phone calls or responding to emails. Does anyone know what's up with them? I'd really like to start building one when I have down time. It'll be my only chance to fly a "warbird."
Any other sort of companies out there offering plans to build a replica warbird?

You and Zachary need to talk! Maybe you guys can set up a production line- or at least build two of everything.

Anybody building a scale replica mosquito, was watching Heavy Iron last night, it reminded me of how much I love the Mossy and how awesome it would be to build a 75% scale version from composites. I'm not sure how to make the molds for a wooden replica.

PbyCat-Guy: Mold design is gonig to depend on two things....are these going to be production or one-offs and are you going to be using male, female, or matched set molds. Each type of mold design has it's positives and negatives and you would need to figure which process you were going to use before you launched into designing and fabricating the molds.

For some good information, find a copy of "Revolution in the Sky", by Richard Sanders Allen. In the appendix section on building the Lockheeds, there is quite a bit about how they solved the production problems for molding the fuselage skins way back in 1918.

Also, do some research on the ClarkMold/Duramold process used by Fairchild. You can also glean quite a bit from boat building books on using the cold mold process.
