Just a quick guess based on the size and color, but perhaps it is some kind of target drone or early cruise missile.

Something like a Matador or a Firebee...

It looks like it might be a drone. Any more pics?

What woods was that found in? The state, and nearby city, could lend valuable clues.

If it is in my neck of the woods I'd gladly take a bit of a hike to check it out...

If it is here in NJ I'd suspect it would be somewhere around Ft.Dix, McGuire, or Lakehurst.

Depending on where it is I would be interested in tagging along. Currently doing some research on a A-17 crash in Pa.

Im fairly certain thats the remains of a T2v-1 that is in the woods of West Milford NJ.

If I am wrong, then checking out this wreck os still pretty cool.
It's a fairly well know Geo Caching site.

Much too large for a Firebee. Anyone see an F11F? Atlantic City?

I'm going to go with Navion. Of interest in the photo is the large yellow X on fuselage.
A "marked" crash. This aircraft is in some database of known wrecks. The CAP often marks
wrecks so that search aircraft don't mistake it for something recent.
I think the nose of the aircraft is to the right. Appears to be sliding canopy rails visible.
The strong taper of the aft fuselage is evident, e.g. Navion.
