Hi Bill,

I don't post on WIX often, but I do check here from time to time.

As you may recall, you gave my son Tom a ride in your Spitfire at Oshkosh a few years ago. He was an aspiring USAF pilot at the time and I thought you might be interested in how he is doing. In a word.......AWESOME!!! He completed his T-6 training just before Christmas and is now flying T-38's. I figure the Spitfire time is what gives him the edge.

I'll try posting some photo's (I've been unsuccessful so far).

He still cherishes his time in the Spitfire and has wonderful aircraft profile of N308WK (courtesy of Holedigger) proudly displyed on his living room wall.

Happy flying and look forward to seeing N308WK back in the air again soon.
Jim

I dunno Matt. I think they're actually pretty awesome aircraft. We see a lot of them here in the Randolph AFB area and I have a good friend flying them in UPT right now.

I didn't think much of the Texan II until I saw the demo some years back. Wow! That is one impressive bird.

Hi Jim. and say hello to Tom and thanks for the photos.
We certainly do remember when we did the flight out of Fon du Lac. I hope to do one with you someday.
Where are the photos taken and where is Tom now? I hope he is here and stays in the states.
Bill

Thanks everybody! As you can probably tell, I'm a very proud papa.

Bill, the photo's were taken at Laughlin AFB in Del Rio, Texas, where Tom is currently based. He should get his wings in July, then find out where he'll be assigned and what he will fly. Hopefully it will be some place that folks don't shoot at airplanes.

Hopefully, I can get back in the cockpit now that my son has a good start on his career.
And yes, I would love to go fly with you, but I've have to lose about 30 lbs first.....

Fly safe,
Jim
