I'm going to be in Seattle in a few weeks and was wondering if Legend Flyers is still an ongoing concern. Someone had said something about F-104s, and while frankly the 262 replicas hold little interest, I might have to try to arrange a visit if there are some F-104s to see.

Thanks,

Jim

Hard to say, the last update to their website was in Sept. of 2009 and it bragged about the secretaries new microcar. They were scheduled to do Michael Dorns F-104 but every time I go by there's no one there. Most of the crew have moved along in their careers or, in a couple of cases, have died. Call first and interupt Maurines solitare game.

It's still worth the drive to KPAE as FHC is literally right next door to STORMBIRDS hanger, the MoF restoration facility is a three minute drive up the field and has a great deal of neat things to see (F7U, FM-2, TV-1,and stuff stashed in every corner of every building). @ the Northwest corner of the field is Boeings gift shop inside the Future of Flight if you really need trash and trinkets, they have a pretty fair restaurant there too and you can take the Boeing factory tour from there. Then around the West side is Historic Flight Foundation which is brand new and features John Sessions significant collection from a recently arrived STAGGERWING up to a SPITFIRE, P-51B, F7F, F8F, B-25D and, if it's home, the Mig 29.

Thanks. I was planning to visit all the other locations you mentioned and just wondered about Legend.

Be sure and dress appropriately, start with your SPEEDO and top off with a waterproof insulated coat as our weather ALWAYS improves on July 5th, you can't believe how much fun it is to light fireworks under an umbrella!
You'll also be able to capture KPAE's ramp space covered in 787 gliders awaiting engines and that pesky FAA approval.

As of yesterday the 104's are still there. They are in pieces and still for sale.

They are a good bunch at Legend, don't let "The Inspector" scare you off. It is literally across from FHC, so if you are going to FHC, drive a little further and poke your head in...just not at lunch time.

Cheers
