Today the Champaign Lady fuselage moved up to its new home at the Champaign Aviation Museum here in Urbana. Wings and all other parts are moving shortly so the entire project will be relocated within the next couple of weeks.

Has the museum acquired the project or are simply providing a home?

The museum (foundation) was created to own/operate the B-17 after the project was started in 2005.

That is wonderful news. The "Lady" looks good outdoors and in her new home. :D Next time I am in Dayton I'll have to take the time to come and visit the museum.

Thanks for the photos and information ... Haven't been there since about a year ago ... I think it's time for another visit here in the next few weeks.

Looks great!! I was just up there for the fly-in recently and thought they were making great progress overall as well as on the radio room.

From the looks of the amount of space around C-Lady in your last picture did Chris finally get the engine hung on the B-25 "Champaign Gal" ?? Looks like it has been moved or is behind where the C-47 was? I noticed the A-26 was back outside during the MERFI fly-in.

Great work by everyone involved.

I'll be in Indy next year for a car event (the centenary of Stutz) and I'll head east to Dayton. Now I have another place to go.

Looking forward to it.

PS
Champaign Lady has the COOLEST B17 tee-shirts! (Picked one up at TOM)

Check 'em out on-line (HINT, HINT) and buy some for ALL your friends and family this Christmas!

And help get her back in the air!

What's the back story on this one? I don't think I've ever seen it, at least not in its current form.
