Aviation Cadet George H. Fischer Jr. has been missing in the soutwest United States since December 21, 1943.



12-21-43. Location Unknown. At an unknown time between 0000 and 0200 MWT, a North American AT-6C disappeared while on a navigation training flight in the Southwest United States. A/C George H. Fischer Jr., Morrisville, Pennsylvania, was declared missing and is presumed dead. The cadet had taken off from Luke Field, Phoenix, Arizona, on a night navigation mission to Yuma, Arizona, to Red Rock, Arizona, and return to Luke Field. The cadet successfully navigated to Yuma and had checked in with the control ship. He turned back for Luke Field at 2145 but failed to return, being declared missing at 0200. Any thoughts on where is ended up? I guess if he ended up in a canyon he'd be pretty hard to find. It blows my mind there is still missing aircraft in the US (Lower North America).

GOOGLE EARTH Red Rock, AZ. zoom in to 4000 ft. and pan North West-ish good luck seeing anything once you get away from the highways, it was just luck they found Steve Fossets crash as soon as they did, the only thing harder is looking for someones head sticking up out of the Ocean.
