Hi gang,

I just wanted to plug my friend's book here on WIX if I could. I figure there are a number of you that would find it a very interesting book.

I work with Yadi at a local grocery store, but in his previous life Yadi was F-5 fighter pilot in the Iranian Air Force. He flew many missions against Iraqi forces during the Iran/Iraq war and was actually shot down over Iraq. Thankfully some Kurds rescued him, nursed him back to health and was able to get him back to Iran where he became a war hero and a symbol of his country's resilience in the face of adversity. They even made a movie about him.

Once back to health Yadi took a position as Military attache in Pakistan where he met and communicated with many nations top officials. During all this the Shah (leader of Iran) was ousted by the Ayatolla Khomieni and the Islamic revolution and when Yadi returned to Iran he was treated as a traitor and an agent of the CIA. He was soon after arrested, imprisoned, and tortured. His book relives these horrible days and how he was incredibly able to overcome the odds, be released, and have his family (wife and three children) smuggled out of Iran and to Vancouver, Canada.

The story continues even further and recounts his own incredible escape to freedom. If you are at all interested in what was going on in Iran shortly after the Islamic Revolution, or what is going on there today, you should read this book. "Flight of the Patriot" will give you an insiders look into how truly brutal the Islamic Regime was, and by all accounts, still is.

Here are some youtube interviews with Yadi talking about his book and his experiences:

And you can buy it on amazon. With Christmas coming up it would make a great gift for the aviation/history minded individual. And for those of you who are hard to buy gifts for, let your loved know this is on your list.

I hope you all don't mind me advertising for my friend, but he really deserves his book to be a success and I hope you all read it and enjoy it.

Peace,

David M
