The show was pretty good and even kept my two-year-old’s interest. Unfortunately he figured out how to break the camera so most of these are from my phone. Daddy learned a lesson!

"Whats that sticker on the canopy"

Why that's the rental company I belong to, Rich!

VL :D

PS: Great history at the base. Titan II ICBMs were based north of the field from the 1960s to the late 1980s; several incidents with loss of life during the construction and operation of these missles. Also, the B-58 was once based there; they actually have an open area of grass in their collection for a B-58 should one become available. During the show, 400 troops from the 82nd Airborne parachuted (fell) from 10 C-130s, amazing to see so many canopies. Great flying at the show, the winds and temps were perfect; The flight line photos had sun from behind; and a 12,500' runway to fly from!! Sheesh!!

I grew up north of Jacksonville & the base in White County(Searcy) and our farm bordered a Titan II facility, the silo was less than a half mile from the house. A friend of mine lost a brother in a silo explosion east of us near a small community near Judsonia. To the west of us at Damascus, close to the time the missiles were removed there was an explosion that blew the warhead out of the silo where it landed around a hundred yards away from it.
Loved having grown up there in the 60's when the Hustlers were at the base, between the B-58's and the transient aircraft at LRAFB and Eaker up in Blytheville there were sonic booms a plenty in those days.
