With all the folks who said they were going to Reno this year, I'm surprised there doesn't seem to have been more comment on this unusual participant. Or maybe I just missed it -- been on the road a lot since then. The 190 ran quite well, after some adjustments after a scary arrival laced with obscenity over the radio from the very busy pilot...

A remarkable selection of warbirds at Reno this this year, from Iskra to Vampire to a pair of Tigercats. When I get a chance I'll do a thread over in the Racing etc forum.

Holy smokes! I didn't have a clue that there was a 190 at Reno. Is this the Frasca bird?

Soooo happy to see so many Flug Werk birds taking to the skies. I can only hope there will be an additional production run in the future due to the popularity of the type.

You know, I've never seen a comprehensive listing of where the dozen or so Flug Werk fighters ended up. Has anyone put something like that together?

Yep, CW 57 takes a look at the Flug Werk operation as the last part of a FW Survivors series, and has a list of all aircraft and owners. Although as it is 2006 there have been a few changes of ownership since, especially with Yagen snapping up one or two :)

Yeah, in my opinion the Reno coverage was severely LACKING this year...I only saw a few photos, heard the gold race was cancelled and that was about it....no in depth pics of what was there, who was there, how they fared....It took going to an outside resource to find out the gold race at the end had been cancelled due to high winds.

It was actually a quite wonderful Reno for a Warbird lover, up til Sunday afternoon! Great weather, great light, great photographic possibilities! I've never understood why warbird lovers don't absolutely flock there each September...
