Jeez, how cool is that?!?!

Ten million pounds is a LOT of money, but that Bear sure would make a fantastic museum display piece, especially for a Cold War themed museum.

Neato!

Think Collings might do a Cold War Flight? It would give the Phantom something the escort across back to the border... I'd pay for a ride on a Bear... as long as they provide the earplugs.

Seriously, could someone import her and make a flyer?

We have listed a very high price for a purpose. We are not expecting of course (although it would be nice) to achieve this, but we are looking for very serious offers.

there goes my chance with a frivolous offer.

When I first read the title, I thought that it was referring to "Rare Bear". After having just got back from the Reno Air Races, that was on my mind. Things are in turmoil over there with the Head crew chief and Pilot apparently quitting, along with numerous crew changes.

That price is way too high for a non-flying static airplane. It converts to $ 15.7 Million USD. For that much one can have a flying Su-27! Considering how flying Migs are practically being given away, I think it's safe to say that that aircraft will never sell at that price.

Don't forget to add VAT!

Oh, and they take returns. I wonder if they'll pay return shipping...

That is a hopelessly inflated price. Haven't the Bears been around since the 1950's? Not really any new technology that a corporation would want to buy to be able to study. Would be cool to see and hear one making airshow passes!

Has anyone read the advert, rather than just (over-)reacting?

That would just fit the criteria of one of my old bosses (sadly dead for thirty years) who said he wanted an airplane that didn't say 'I'm here' he wanted one that said, and loudly 'I've ARRIVED!'

Oh really! I was waiting for someone to confirm that was the case. Do you know the story behind that on the reasons why? I can't fathom that as JP has been flying the Bear for how long now, like 25 years or so? He probably knew that plane as good or better than Lyle. That makes no sense.

Randy, are you at liberty to provide any info at all? If it's not public consumption ready, feel free to PM me. I would really like to know! Thanks!
