long shot but are there any colour pictures or profiles of this plane in it's grumman house colours?..i'd like to do a model of it.

The paint schemes depicted are correct as far as I can remember. I just don't recall the actual color/code ID of the 'brown' paint that is used as the primary color for this aircraft. Kinda looks like a metallic 'root beer'! Beautiful aircraft though.

I'm sorry but aren't those the colors applied by Fornof? Wouldn't this be the original "house" colors?

I just recently heard from another source of Grumman expertise regarding Gooses and Widgeons that yes, "red & black" was Leroy Grumman's official in-house color scheme for all company aircraft.

Now grounded at the Palm Springs museum, owned by the Pond Family and painted as a military F8F with nose art 'Bob's Bear'.
