Hello folks

Has anyone got a pair of non-airworthy T6 / SNJ 27" main wheels and tires suitable use for a static display (ie ie Tires / tubes capable of holding air and rims/tires able to carry an airframe weight).

Required for a static CAC Boomerang project in an Australian Volunteer / not for profit museum, all leads greatfully appreciated via post or PM.

Regards

Mark Pilkington

When you get them, use a auto inner tube as it will hold air better then a aircraft one will, 14" tube will work.

Would any of these from Jay Wisler work?

R-17 27" wheels w/brake drums & worn out tires that still hold air $ 150

R-18 27" wheels w/good brake drums & tires good for static display $ 185

Dan,

thanks for the heads-up, I have emailed Jay for more information, does anyone have photos of BT-13 Main wheels, or can describe how they vary in design/look to the T6/SNJ?

We are using them for a static CAC Boomerang that used a modified Wirraway (NA-16) Wheel which is similar to the T6/SNJ and if similar the BT-13 wheels may do the job.

Regards

Hey Mark, Pooner on this site has a bunch of BT-13 stuff. I'll see if I can get ahold of him and find out something.

BT-13 and T-6 wheels as well as Stearman wheels are the same. All use 27" tires and should fit on the axles just fine.

Thanks for that confirmation Jase.

Jay's website is out of date and unfortunately his BT-13 wheels and tires are sold.

So we are still chasing a pair of T6/SNJ/BT-13 27" wheels and tires suitable for use with a static display.

We have a 40' container departing Midlands in October and would like to acquire and load the wheels in time for that shipment.

Anyone with surplus wheels and tires in Texas or adjoining states.
