Great shot Mike, to bad they couldn't roll the CASM Lysander into the sun. Was great to finally see our Lyander and CWH's in the air together. It was really amazing sitting around listening to John Aiken (VWoC), Rick Rickards (CWH) and Bernie Lapoint (RCAF CASM Lysander) prepare notes. Bernie was involved in the restoration of the CASM machine in 1967 and has over 90 hours on her.

One of the first models I built as a kid was a silver Lysander, even had the winglets with anti-personnel bomblets on the wheel pants. That is a spectacular shot!

That shot is great! What a fantastic site to see!

If anyone wants to bank roll the CMF's Lysander getting into the air, I'd be happy to fly her to Ottawa for a 4 Lizzie shot, and a 3 plane fly-by.

All it'll take is... a Bristol Mercury that works, and a complete going over of the airframe, some instruments, and a lot of help.

That, sir, is an English gentleman's aerial carriage. As such, it has spats on its wheels, not 'pants'. Pants are what a gentlemen wears under his trousers.

I would have to bet this the best photograph of the year!

Wheel Spats! Dang, I almost used that word until I thought of my friend's 1945 PJ-3S Cub that has on its alternate gear "mud spats" which are a little different. Nathan, agreed on best picture of the year. Even the perspex, windscrews and bonnets look great!

Geez guys, I don't know about that, but thanks anyway. Credit goes to Dave O'Malley and Peter Handley for arranging the outside aircraft. They took some shots from an elevated position. I hear they will be in Flypast. Anybody walking by could have, and did, take this same photo.

It is a shame that the Ottawa museum couldnt have dug theirs out to sit in the sunshine with th eother two for a photo op.
When was the last time 3 Lysanders sat together? The end of the war?

Ah yes, There we were, left engine on fire, right engine feathered...ahh yes,...there we were, ..Screwed! No Kissing!

Pull out the static machine? Oh, c'mon man, that's crazy talk. I mean, VWC and CWH just poured hundreds of thousands of dollars into these aircraft, took the time and effort to fly them to Rockcliffe -- and you're expecting the museum to move a couple of ropes and drag their plane a hundred feet for a decent photo? How unreasonable can you get!

It wasn't all that long ago that there were 3 Lizzies frequently appearing at shows in the UK, and they may have gotten together at some point.
