It rained most of the day. But I made the most of it and still enjoyed my time.

Just a few pictures. Hope you like.

Thanks,
Nathan :)

Nathan,

I take it the F-100 was a no-show? How was the warbird turnout?

One of these days I'll have to make it back up there. Back in the day, it and Scranton were the only 'big' shows within a reasonable driving distance from Long Island. The Mass Air Guard always pulled out the stops and got some great military participation.

My first show was in 1987. I was amazed to see RAF Tornado's, Luftwaffe F-4F's and Tornado's! I went back in 1988 and 91, with a trip to Westover in 92. Have not been back since.

The F-100 was there but did not fly. The weather was bad. A low cloud cover and rain kept most grounded.

Friday was the only good day to photograph the aircraft at Westfield.

Nice. The F-100 would have been the only reason for me to go as I have seen everything else. Sounds like the Friday deal is the best. I can imagine the crowds must have been nuts on Sat as they all must've heard the weather report for Sunday.

Can anyone tell me, is that barbed wire chain link fence still there between the runway and the crowd line? That was most unwelcome when I got there in 91, as it wasn't there in 87 and 88.

There is no fence between the crowd and the runway, other than the usual air show fence. The military end of the airport has changed dramatically in the last 10 years.
