I haven't seen a magazine at all this year due to some address problems, and when I wrote them I got the message they would give me a new date for renewal. Guess that means no replacements will come to Norway either. But if they can ship within the lower 48 I will see if they can ship to a friend in California. Don't really wanna miss the magazines, that just s*cks big time...

Challenge Publications sold my address and renewal information to a third party and stuck me for a two year subscription. So I quit getting their magazine and have not missed it at all. You can get more current information on WIX and not have to deal with a bunch of old info mostly dealing with California aircraft. Go electronic and forget a bunch of difficult people that intentionally sell your name for profit which then creates a problem for you.

yes, you can get it off the web, but i like kicking back in quiet with a gin & tonic & chilling out. many of the major av mags have subscription scams that they do, & some aknowledge the uncontrolled scams to readers & warn them. i've fallen victim myself. challenge publications has informed it's subscribers & has done the proper thing. i know there are plenty of people who'd like to stick it to challenge, but i feel they have been honest. received 1 from "aviation history" today warning me my next issue is my last when i'm payed to january 2011. when you get this b.s. check by the right of your name & you'll see when your subscription is really up.

Maybe someone should suggest to them that it is not good business sense to sell confidential subscriber information to scammers. All this does is make honest americans like myself mad at the people who started this and yes I am sticking it to Challenge by not renewing and going electronic. I do not have plans of going back and I am proud of that fact.

I recommend bnot buying from them. Get Warbird Digest or another.

From my experience they get articles from contributord and don't pay them.

Will never send anything to them again - they got 3-4 free articles from me.

Problems are that I prefer the contents of Warbirds Intl. over Warbirds Digest.

Sorry Tom, having worked for and with a multitude of aviation magazines, that's not something I've ever encountered, nor would I be happy to see from someone carrying my name in the magazine.

Having on occasion helped Paul Coggan try to manage legitimate subscriptions for Warbirds Worldwide into the USA, trying to do anything 'clever' illegal or immoral would be the height of stupidity, pissing off your most loyal readers. However while some people spit the dummy at stuff that's not even in the control of the magazine (such as the USPS) others (as here?) are going to stay with people who I'd never deal with twice.

As a professional journalist (and occasional guest of Holiday Inn) and regular poster and reader here, if anyone thinks only the internet or only the magazines provide all the good stuff, I'd suggest they either have a lower desire for good gen, or are kidding themselves.

As to anything about Challenge publications - no comment.

challenge has it's enemies & detractors for sure. i've heard them for years. but bottom line all 4 articles that i've written for them i was always paid well. if you do work..... expect your money. sometimes you have to do a little prodding from some of these publishing companies to get paid. i've got a number of companies & individuals dragging me out, but you have to be persistent. money is not flying anywhere these days.

The internet and magazines are both very necessary. I'm not dragging a laptop to lunch at a restaurant or into the bathroom and there are no feature length in depth aviation articles that provide good meal reading on the net. The internet is also irreplaceable.
