Thunder 2010 Photos (One stop)

Mon Aug 09, 2010 9:41 am

I know Nathan started a few threads for his TOM 2010 photos.
(Good stuff Nathan :) )
But, thought it might be a good idea to have one place
for everybody to post their shots.

Please feel free to add to this post.

First pic is a nice view of some North American Aviation history.

The WWII ground battle re-enactment had some
pretty good air cover fly over during Saturday's battle.

Question for Vlado.

Obviously your plane was in fantastic hands but does it make you at all nervous to watch her fly in someone elses hands? This question is not at all meant in a disrespectful way to the outstanding skills of Mr. Shipley. Just curious if you have a little pucker factor when it comes to things like this. :D

PS - Outstanding pictures!!

Not worried.
I've flown with Ed for many years, so it was a no-brainer.
The airplane is running great lately (knock-on-wood), so I had no concern on the mechanical side either.
Actually, the only feeling I had was......jealousy!!! :D
(I was looking forward to the posts about "who's flying my plane??" Ha!)

Hi Vlado,
I guess this was kind of a reunion of half of the original Four Horsemen with "Moonbeam McSwine" and "Bald Eagle" doing formation acro together again...

Here are a couple of mine with more to follow as time permits.

It was great to see so many fellow WIXERs in the photo pit this year.

Thanks for the reply Vlado.

If I had a Mustang Mr. Shipley is one guy I would not be worried about either.

Was there a reason they were using your plane? I see from the pictures the Febuary was there.

February had an engine problem that was being repaired. On Monday, its motor was still disassembled. Thus, Eddie called me about the loan. He picked up Moonbeam on Wednesday so as not to miss TOM. By Saturday, February was fixed.........and Moonbeam got home that same afternoon.
