I found this pic surfing the other day. I dont know who's it is but i had to find out some info on it.

It had to be sunk there. No engines and all the panels are missing. It looks like it was tied on the floor after she settled down.

Anybody have any info on this bird.

It might be from Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands, as there are many similarly dumped aircraft there. Do a google search, and you will find plenty of cool stuff. Nice pic though... thanks for posting.

It's a post war probably civil airframe as it has a 'Clipper' bow in place of the turret, in fact that, that particularly odd shaped bow should make it even easier for someone who's in the groove on PBY's to I D.
Quickly!! ALERT TIGHAR!!! someone found a shoe sole brass pull within 15000 miles of this airframe :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :lol: :lol:

I've seen this on WIX before years ago - I vaguely recall something about it having been stripped and sunk in a Caribbean harbor around 1960. Am I close?
