facinating and very well presented. Just one minor point- I belive that the Hawker Nimrod was a development of the Hawker Hoopoe rather than a navalised version of the Fury

I think strictly speaking you are correct. It is certainly reported that the developement was seperate however the similarity between the Fury and Nimrod is so comprehensive they share a huge amount of commonlity. I think Hawkers were very sucessful at exploiting different specification and roles with essentially the same aircraft the whole Hawker Hart series being a case in point. I will ask Guy whether he thinks they are suffciently different it will be very interesting to hear his opinion as he has restored two nimrods and is just finishing his fury.
