.
For those interested, over on the Keypublishing Forum there is a campaign to save from scrapping, the last Hawker Siddley HS748 mark I Airliner left in the UK.

The HS748 is a post war twin engined turbo-prop airliner that achieved some oversales success for the UK in competition with the Fokker Friendship.
The airframe has been offered "free to a good home" and the forumites on the KP forum are supporting fund raising to dismantle it urgently ahead of the airport deadline and relocate to an appropriate museum.
Here is a chance for "armchair" or "computer" based involvement to preserve aviation history, and for enthusiasts connected by the Net to co-operate and support a project from around the world?
Forumites are currently pledging funds (in UK pounds) in the order of $40USD per head towards a target of @$5000USD to allow disassembly and transport costs to be covered for the recovery team.
They have already hit the half way mark in pledges.
Once an end destination museum has been finalised, and the funding target reached, pledges will be called in via bank transfer or paypal, and the dismantling and recovery will commence.
Please have a look and consider lending your support?
