I was lucky enough to pick up this pair of pre-1954 Benjamin RAF runway approach lights for a few pounds off a junk stall this weekend. :D

AMWD = Air Ministry Works Department
LA = Light, (Runway) Approach
12 = 12" dia. lens
P1 = not entirely sure, but most likely indicates a prefocus lamp

They're off into the workshop this week for a bit of gentle TLC, every nut, bolt and fastener is rusted solid.

All the best,
PB

So, I have to ask.....

Will they be installed on the "landing"? :lol:

Baddum-tishhhhh!

Seriously though, they are far too large for indoor use so for the time being will be mounted on poles in the garden.

All the best,
PB

Anyone have a legitimate source for old runway lights at a reasonable price?
