Current Warbirds Flying with Original Engines

Thu Jul 01, 2010 11:54 pm

Greetings to the Wixer Braintrust. I have only posted 25 tmes over a 6 year time span however Iam a very serious lurker. The folks on this board have a lot of knowledge when it comes to Warbirds.
My question is this among the Current Fighters and Bombers that at the very least are flown a few times each year which ones in the world are still flyng with their original engines? By that Iam talking about an engine or engines that of course have been ovrhauled new pistons, rods, etc. I can think of one candidate myself. That would be the P-38 Glacier Girl which if Iam correct first flew back in 2002 with its original engines after they had been brought up to current specs.
Does anyone else have a candidate or view point on this can't be very many out there after 60 plus years. As always Keepem Flyin.

I'm sure there are several, but the one that pops out first in my mind is the POF's Zero, flying with it's original Sakae engine.
