Gotta love that placard on the side of the cockpit:

WARNING
Canopy must be closed and locked during:
1. Taxi above 50 knots
2. Flight

I can just hear the pilot asking the back-seater at 35k ft and 400 kts, "Hey, you mind if I crack the canopy for some fresh air? Oh wait, this placard says it probably wouldn't be a good idea. Glad I noticed it..I would have never figured that out by myself." :lol:

Wow, that's pretty amazing! Nice job. How was that transformation to the cockpit done - with new paint or just a heavy scrubbing with some sort of cleaner?

I was begining to wonder what was happening with the old 'gobbler'. You folks have done amazing things in a fairly short time.
By the way Steve N. every 757 has an identical decal on the forward inner post of the opening (#2) window on both sides of the flight deck

Probably just a precaution in case there were ex-Navy carrier guys in ADC.... :)

It's on the 777 too. (I'll find out if the sticker is on the 787 next year. :wink: )

The museum acquired 2 tires before we left to recover the aircraft, but I'm sorry James, beyond that I don't have any more information. I'll try to find out for you.
