The big typhoon!

An uncle rode out this storm on the USS Indiana where he was an officer with the turret C crew.

The OS2U's took quite a beating that day!

I had an uncle who was on a destroyer during one of the two typhoons in '44 or '45. I think it was this one. All he said about it was that they didn't think their little tin can could possibly survive the pounding.
