Warbird Information Exchange

Hi all... looking at the thread here with the vintage 1960's shots of Davis-Monthan, some of the shots show a handful of the 150 Lockheed T2V/T-1 SeaStars in storage. It made me curious as to if there are any of these still in flying condition or under restoration? I "think" I saw one out at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway (former Williams AFB) on the East side of Phoenix last year, but I can't be sure if it was just a T-33 painted like one or if it actually was one... and it didn't look like it had flown in a while.

I believe there is 1 that still flies.
*edit* Was thinking of a TV-2, sorry. There is a T2V on the N-register, N447TV, but I don't know if that still flies.

I saw a photo and a tidbit of info in the last year of a T2V being restored for flight with hopes of having it ready for CONA events this year...Thunder over Michigan had one listed on it's list of airshow participants...

There is at least one T-1A/T2V-1 Seastar that is either in flyable condition or near flyable condition.

The thread referenced by Zane in the above post concerned this aircraft based in Arizona.

Apparently there was hope that it would be available to fly at some CoNA air shows/events this year but to the best of my knowledge it has not.

I remember someone saying a while back that the Seastar was in need of a new windscreen or canopy or something along those lines.

I would love to see it in the air.
