The H-19 (S-55T) photos below (1 - 5) were taken at Falcon Field, Mesa AZ in Dec.1986. The radial engines were removed and a turboshaft installed. I think the engines were Garrett AiResearch.

The photo below was taken at Falcon Field, Mesa AZ in Jan.1987. It also had a turboshaft installed.

The photo below was taken sometime between 1977-1978 at the Bradley Air Museum in CT before the tornado hit the museum. I do not know if the museum still has this aircraft.

The photo below was taken at the USAF Rescue Museum at Kirtland AFB, New Mexico in August 1986. It is not the real Hop A Long.

The next 8 photos (below) were taken at the Chandler Memorial Airport in Dec.1986. If you could call it an airport. What an interesting place. Old Willie Aux Field - ???

An HO4S-3 (S-55) in Canada.
55891 was purchased by the Royal Canadian Navy in 1955.
I took the photo with the red 5 on the side at Shearwater on 26 June 1965 when 891 was a sub-hunter with HS-50.
I took the photo of it on the grass when it was a gate guard at Shearwater on 10 June 1978.
It was with the Shearwater Aviation Museum for some years until they got another HO4S-3 that had not been out in the salt air. It then went to the local aviation trade school.
In May of 2010 it is stored outside at Shearwater.

Thanks Larry - great pics!

N75214 was H-19D, serial number 56-4251. It's seen here working a fire back in 1978.

N75215 was H-19D, serial number 52-7620. This is likely how it still looks today, rotting in west Africa, if it hasn't been turned into beer cans.

N1255T was HO4S, bureau number 138522.

All the airframes stored at Chandler were moved within the last two years and are in storage elsewhere.

The NEAM H-19 was destroyed in the 1979 tornado, but the fuselage was kept for many years. Not sure if it's still in storage or scrapped.

N1255T is In Washiongton drying cherries. It left Falcon Last year. The pictures at Falcon are in the hanger we are in now. I forgot how big it looks without all the stuff. And they were Garrett 331. Thanks for the pics. :D
