Warbird Information Exchange

I was in Georgia this past weekend and saw a Steraman in the back of a hangar looking a little on the down side. It obviously has some history beyond being a Warbird. Here's a few pictures.

Those guys were so much fun and crowd pleasers, too bad the pizza still is crap-did you get the N# so we know which airplane it is?

What field was that at? At first I thought it was Doc Lail's airplane but I think his was pretty much totalled in a landing accident.

I can just say it was about 30 minutes South of Atlanta. I understand someone is interested in buying it and I don't want to inadvertantly mess things up. No N number as it must have been on the vertical stab that wasn't there. Also the data tag was not where it should have been. I was hoping to identify it.

It's a 450 hp Stearman...very desirable.
The cowl and prop alone are worth a good amount of money.

Depending on what shape the wood wings are in it could be a pretty straight forward restoration.

Don't worry, it's worth too much for someone to scrap.
It will find a good home...eventually.
