Big Stack of Magazines, Any Use?

Wed Mar 10, 2010 11:47 am

I am cleaning my house and have perhaps a hundred aviation magazines. Does anyone have any use for them or can suggest something better than throwing them in the trash? They are Warbird ones, and also AOPA Pilot, Sport Aviation, and Aviation Consumer, all kind of interesting, but not rare. There is no local flight school to see if they want them, and the FBO is very upper crust, they have more mags about shopping than about flying.
I can throw them away, but it will not please me. I''ll enjoy the clean rooms, anyway. They sure can collect over time.

You should be able to drop them off at any VFW post or American Legion post, they will take them to the local veterans hospital where they will be greatly appreciated.
Or, just drop in at the local VA hospital and spread them around, you might just make a few interesting new friends.
Books and non-aviation related magazines are welcome too!!!

Good ideas, but we are a small resort town and don't have either of those here. For someone in a city who is cleaning out the same type of things it may be a good place.
I think I had better get them to the trash, actually the recycling before they start speaking to me and while I am still revved up to clean. If I sit down to read a few they'll take hours.

Bill

I can use them. I teach young middle schoolers about ww2 and aviation in my spare time. I use aviation history magazines and such to do so

Tom, I already went to recycling before I read your reply. I will try to call you and will likely have some more, maybe better ones more in the warbird line. Thanks, Bill
