“Me262” Movie Takes Flight!

The rumors you may have heard are true. A movie that chronicles the hunt for the first operational jet fighter, the Me262, is scheduled to begin shooting in August in South Carolina. It is being produced by Forbesfilm, an Independent Film Production Company that has completed a number of Westerns and Civil War films over the past five years.

Sounds interesting. Are the new build 262s going to feature in the movie flying sequences?
You might want to change 'rocket powered' to jet powered in the intro on the website, and also spell Messerschmitt correctly!

That would fly in the face of the great tradition of the motion picture industry never getting things right. :lol:

Appears to be a lowwww budget direct to DVD type of production.

It is obviously LOW budget. I don't think they will use any real airplanes, or CGI as that would be much too expensive. It sounds like they are going to use model airplanes and blow up at least one of them.

I wish them all the success, but I'll bet that "Thunder Over Reno" will look like an Academy Award Winner compared to this. I'm not very optimistic as war movies, specifically ones where flying is a central theme to the storyline, are very, very expensive to produce. No money = stinker!

I'll toss them a bone. I hate 80% of CGI, it just look horrible and is looks worse a few years down the road!

The first Star Wars used models and had a low budget (If I recall correctly) and looked great. With a bit of a touch up and CGI tossed in they look great today. I wish more studios used models instead of CGI.

So here is hoping for something worth watching!. :drink3:

But it would be very cool to get some video of one or 2 of the new built machines in the air.
