One of several projects simmering on the stove ~

This one will eventually become a 20 x 48 inch oil on linen. For now, I've done a large pencil study of the main aircraft (RAF 40 Sqdn ace Capt. G. H. Lewis), and I'm working on a 10 x 24 inch oil study ~ background complete on the latter.

Nice!

Really neat composition, Wade, with the skyscapes - one of your strengths I think.

Nitpickys - I'm sure you'll add detail to the Lewis... and I know the Vickers appears canted up when looking at it, but it seems a bit too much in the sketch to me as it is. That's subjective of course. Otherwise, lots of brownie points for accuracy. 8)

It's the wrong side for the Vickers, but the shot's to hand and shows the Aldis sight Oscar mentions. Obviously the widish angle of the lens doesn't help with the Lewis.

Thanks for the kind words and the input - I'm looking forward to finishing the small oil study soon. For now I'm working on a Frecce Tricolori piece that should look awesome in the client's den! More on that later.
