Discovered on you tube....Interesting video regarding the F-86D's to Yuma....the second part has a target towing B-29 clearly filmed flying doing the duty....the tail number is 44-86291....one of the legendary "silverplate" B-29's modified for the Atomic Bomb missions of WWII. This one was "Necessary Evil" and after she was "used up" she ended at NAS China Lake as a target...finally being scrapped sometime after 1956....look for her in part 2 at the 5 minute mark...

the F-86 seen in the film....FU-997 is 53-997 and is the one used in the civilian support staff skit with the "Big Viv" painting on the side....there is a model of it here...

The neatest part of this is she survives! Donated to the city of Butte, Montana in 1961 she sits on a pole in a park....amazing!

Part 1 and 2

'291 came off the line just in front of the Enola Gay.

Great footage, and the first time I've seen a Sabre taxi without a tail section!

Geiger became the commercial airport for Spokane after Felts was closed and the USAF moved on to Fairchild on the West side of Spokane. Thanx it was fun to see that very cleverly done film work again!!
