There's an O-2 "Charlie Chaser" that attended the 2001 Burnet, TX airshow. Ok, who knows the owner and registry? Thanks!

That is a long and inglorious tale of that airplane. Ask Karen about him next time you see her.

Oh Please Don't. Just Kidding, Steve. Next time you're at DFW and have a couple of hours, give me a call.

Actually the plane has been sold and is apparently in California. I know nothing of the new owner but the previous one was a piece of work and a long story to be told :P I do not know the combat history of the plane, 68-11041, as the previous owner was prone to a bit of exaggeration among other things. Hey Ober, am I being nice about it,,,,,,LOL

Was this the one that was at San Marcos, Texas, for a while? There was one that stayed in one of the new T-hangars on the ramp, and I recall it was for sale. It sure sounds like the same guy, or maybe there is more than one like that?

If he was a Corporal Colonel General that was him, and he is still a secret officer in the Air Army Marines Coast Navy. And oh yeah I forgot the navigators' tight white goverment issued Nomex flight suit (only issued to its)

Naw Cuz, must be a different one. The one I remember, the one time I saw him at the airport, was wearing an O.D. bag. Sounds like they might have served together though!

The BN was/is 68-11041 and the N# is N1041 if I remember correctly. N1041 is now listed as being owned by someone in CA. I know the a/c was for sale several years ago and it appears it's been gone from the area for at least a year or more.

Wow, I wonder if that was the same guy with the Duck at the Stuart (FL) air show about 4 or 5 years ago... I seem to remember this dude wearing an unusually fancy flight suit and he saw my OV-10 t-shirt and we got to talking and he went on and on and on about how great a pilot he was and all these "projects" they were working on... and it went on and on and on and on and on... and I knew that a good proportion of what I was hearing was pure BS. (Funny how such encounters stick out in one's mind years later... for all the wrong reasons...)

Then again, tooling around in pretty much any FAC plane, you must get used to always having to go on and on and on to ever get to the point!!!

The key is....did he tell ya he was an AF Gen flying "the only super secret still active duty after all these years" O2 and when talking to rotorheads tell them he was an Army Col who flew "their" helo in Nam. The plane was legit and he actually was a pretty good pilot just had a little bit of problem with "reality" and staying within the law.
