A few shots from the Randolph AFB Open House this past November. Sorry for all the Artsy-fartsy stuff, but being on the east side of the runway for an afternoon show really limits photo ops ....

Thunderbird arrives on Friday ...

Special Delivery fires up on Friday for the short haul over to San Antonio Int'l, where it picked up actor Gary Siniese. Gary and his Lt. Dan Band performed on the Randolph ramp Friday evening for the Wounded Warriors project.

Altus C-17 and a C-47 performed the Airlifter Heritage flight, seen here on Friday. Man, this is an impressive display ...

Gumby put Tarheel Hal through its paces, including a Heritage flight with a 355FW (Davis-Monthan AFB) A-10C and a 325FW (Tyndall AFB) F-22.

Randolph puts on a good show, year in and year out, attendance in good and the variety of aircraft, both old and new, is good. Unfortunatley, Sunday's show the past November was washed out by torrential rains.

I didn't make it to many of the displays, spent almost the entire time down on the active flight area with the T-Bolt, Raptors, and Hogs. Base security was kind of schitzoid ... once I got my vehicle onto the flightline, didn't want to take it off too many times for fear of getting blocked out. The concert Friday evening was a hoot - really enjoyed it.

That's interesting. We had a display over on the east ramp and had virtually no trouble with our vehicles.

Bumped a couple of other WIXers there.
