There was another video with that soundtrack using the current diesel burners but it got pulled because of copywright issues :(

JMO, but I always considered Van Halen, on a really good track to be an above average local bar band-Skynrd, Allmans, Clapton, SRV, all much, much better

Great footage -- Thanks for the link.

I must say that I MUCH preferred their show with the Skyhawks. I always took time to watch them with the A-4s, but with the F-18s I just find myself looking for someplace indoors to get away from the noise. The Hornets just don't have the intensity and maneuverability that the smaller airplanes did -- the Scooter was just the perfect display airplane, IMO...

And I totally agree with the Inspector, too.

Thanks again...

This video is the actual video that Van Halen distributed to MTV back in the day...so this is the 'official' video if you will.

I remember seeing it at a friend's house (I didn't have MTV at the time) and just being mesmerized by it.

Always loved Van Halen, but they're not to everyone's taste....a video with planes in it rocks.....still waiting for one with warbirds using Bob Seger's 'Against the Wind' or one of his other songs....maybe with warbirds 'Old time Rock and Roll' would be more appropriate?

Suppose I could yank the lyrics to Seger's "Old time Rock and Roll" and see if there's a song in there somewhere.....I'm sure there is....

"The sound of Corsairs just SOOTHES the soul...
I reminisce about the days of old...
with that Round engine Rock and Roll..."

Guitar solo by Rob Mears at this point....

Apologies Bob.

....much, much better????? Wow! I'm glad it's JYO! Must be a generational thing. SRV was indeed something special, but the rest being much, much better??? Check this past year's concert venues and attendance figures....VH knocked Clapton, Allmans, and Skynyrd smooth out of the water. There must be a few who think VH is a bit more than a local bar band.

EVH was EVERYTHING to me as a kid. I still have my first electric guitar, a red and white striped Kramer copy by Memphis Guitars that I got for my 15th birthday. They eventually got sued for producing it. When I got it, I sat for hours and learned Eruption note for note. Twenty four years later, I can't remember all of it, but I can still hit the highlights. 8) And for the record I prefer DLR to Sammy.
