I have rearranged some stuff now that we have the ability to add sub forums. I don't want to add too many because it moves the main section of the hangar down. I want to get an opinion of the new arrangement so please vote below.

Is it possible to move the subsections to the bottom of the page?

I concur, although normally I just look at new posts and don't use the main page to navigate around, it does appear to be more cumbersome.

I think more than anything it's just getting use to the new layout. I have to say thank you for the retroaviation section. It's awesome and I can't think of a better name.

I agree. And I'd like to have the "reply" emails reinstated.

Mudge the inflexible

It looks a little cluttered on smaller monitors.

BTW, I like the URL icon much better than the two jets.

I like it. Change always comes with some discomfort and getting used to, but I can tell I'm gonna like it more and more as it becomes more familiar. Great job Scott!

I like the new layout, but will take some getting used to.

I think it'll be just fine with a few small tweeks as you go along. The old set-up was getting a bit cumbersome so I'll put the paradigm into second gear and step over the side of the box for some fresh thinking. After all, it IS your site and we are all just tolerated guests-

Scott: It's a little weird for me right now, but I'd say let it ride for a couple of weeks before you make a decision. You've done a massive upgrade to the board already and it may need a couple of weeks to settle down and make sure that all the features are working smoothly and are stable before you start tweaking things.

I'm undecided. Like all change, it just takes some getting used to. Take another poll in about a month or so.

Scott, thanks for everything you have done to keep this place THE premier forum on warbirds for the internet! :D

I like the sub-forums and am happy with them at the top as long as we dont create too many, they remind you that they are there by being at the top. Change always takes a while to become comfortable, but I think it works well - especially like the renaming and re-spelling of the maintenance hangEr, a very appropriate memorial to Gary.

Given the renaming of the maintenance hangar in honour of Gary, can I suggest the Gary/Diamond Lil thread be made a sticky at the top of that sub-forum, along with the "pby/Sea bitch" and "Stratolina" threads as their own memorials to Gary? so that newcomers will be able to learn about this man we all respected so much.

regards

Mark Pilkington

Scott,
When viewing the View New Posts Index page, is it possible to have a symbol in the Topics column that indicates that that post contains images?

Thanks,
Tony
