A few shots from the 1985 Denton TX warbird show. Highlights were 3 Corsairs, 3 Avengers, 4 B-25s, a pair of A-26s, Fifi, and the Blue Angels in their A-4s. The runway length presented a few challenges, Fifi came in a bit long on her arrival on Friday, the brakes were squealing and smoking big time. The was the only show I saw the Blues at, in any aircraft type, where they took off and landed separately.

This last shot, of a Stinson I believe, was funny, and almost tragic. The guy flying this bird wandered into the middle of the Blues practice show on Friday afternoon. I guess he had his radio off, or tuned incorrectly. Anyway, there were Skyhawks scattering all over the sky! The guy landed, taxied to the parking stand, got out, and then looked surprised when Blues and Feds descended upon him like a flock of locusts ..... He took absolutely no evasive action, and flew like he owned the place. I don't think he had any idea what was going on until the cars pulled up to his aircraft.

The 7 jet is now the TA sitting in the salt and flaking away on the Lexington. No, the curators do not believe it nor do they care because they already have one Blue Angel 7 jet, so why do they need another? I'd love to let that jet live a better life.

Those Denton shows were a lot of fun, and only about 15 minutes from my house! :D

I remember the blues flew some nice shows that weekend. Unfortunately, the crowd being on the east side of the runway, you were looking/shooting into the sun. Isn't that the case at most shows? Sure seems that way ....
