Hey Nathan....gonna sound like a broken record here...but...life tends to throw us some curveballs from time-to-time. Not that I was ever much of a grand contributor here either, but early on I asked a question soon after I joined this site. Got jumped by a couple of "experts" (using that term very loosely!) and have had the displeasure of seeing one or two of those same "experts" jump you about your B-36 dreams...finally got disgusted and stopped coming in here all together. It really sux for us to have lost Gary Austin, but if any shred of good comes from his passing, I have noticed a certain change in the air from all of the nit-picking posers jumping on those of us less edumacated personnel. Not sure if that is a temporary thing...hope that we can all get along, keep talking about those glorious old airplanes and maybe some of the other people who left will slowly come back. Friggin awesome that Bill is back...I know he did not leave on his own...hope that he can stay out of trouble and be with us for a long time to come...(Bill knows that he and I see eye-to-eye politically)
At any rate...as has been the case with quite a few of us, I moved, started a new job and will eventually hook-up with the CAF guys here in central Virginia. My teenage son has had some issues settling in to the new area, but we are working on that.
Other than the great D-Day Memorial in Bedford, not much in the way of WWII stuff in this particular part of Virginia, Whole lotta Civil War battlefields and memorials!
So much fun to live vicariously through people like Rich the 51 fixer and Vlado the 51 flyer
