I just finished watching the entire series straight through in the history Channel (what else are you gonna do when down with a bad chest cold and stuck in the house?) I found it very interesting to hear first person narratives for 90% of the series, and the perspectives and changing opinions of several of the participants as they went from goggle eyed neophytes to toughened, sometimes cold professionals.
Most of the footage was new, there were a few points that we've all seen before countless times, like the kamakazi attacks on the fleet, but for the most part and interesting and informative series even for those of us who are pretty much up on our WW2 stuff.
I'll watch it again and encourage everyone else to watch at least parts of it-
