I've still got a scar on my hand from that dang airplane! I'm not sure if Wade was there for this one or not, but if he wasn't he knows who was.
Back in the '80's as a young punk Airman, I was stationed at Barksdale AFB just up the road. Me and a couple of friends went to check it out and in doing so, two of us stood with one foot in an intake and lifted the canopy. My buddy on the other side couldn't hold it any longer and let go. Well, it free fell about 2 feet onto my left hand.

I managed to lift the canopy up with only my right hand (adrenaline is great). I had a nasty cut on my hand, but luckily no broken bones.

My buddies were amazed that it wasn't broken and that I could lift a T-33 canopy with one hand. One of many proud airplane scars.
Back then it was in pretty sad shape, many instruments were missing (as best I could tell before the canopy fell)and it wasn't being taken care of. I asked about it when I was back at BAFB visiting friends *yes the same ones) earlier in the summer and they said it was gone and they didn't know where it went.
Man what a small world that you would ask about that airplane 20 years later!
