Last Saturday I was lucky to get a back seat ride in Marc’s T-34 as he flew a 5-ship formation over Santa Barbara as part of a salute to our veterans. PBJ crewmember Scott Drosos went up in another Mentor for his first “real” formation flight.

Scotty is a 747-400F captain and found this type of flying a little “different”. I find his type of flying (in and out of Afghanistan blacked out diving for the runway like the space shuttle and some of his adventures in other third world venues) a little different.

Scott had a blast. We all did. Three Mentors and two Yaks in a 5-ship with an Albatross and a Trojan doing solos. Two passes down State Street and a dog bone over the harbor on a spectacular day all for a very good cause.

Oh well, back to work on the PBJ.

Dan
