Earlier today I hopped a ride in the backseat of a Fleet 16 owned by The Tiger Boys and we were cruising along at 85mph at 2000ft when we were set upon by a giant woodpecker and it looked right upset, snarlin along. I managed to grab a few shots of it before it flew off. Maybe we got too close to its nest but it was quite a sight.

I have a few more shots but with dial up it took me twenty minutes to upload this one shot. If you want to see more, let me know.

Cheers,

Jeff

Nice shot. If you don't mind me saying, you should look into an image editing basic program where you can resize and reduce the image quality (compress) for better upload times. Photoshop Elements is cheap and even free if it came with a printer or some other program.

You can do a nice 1200 x 800 pixel image that will be about 125KB in size (maybe a 20 second upload on dial-up), whereas an unedited 3000 x 2000 pixel image straight from a digital cam can be 4 MB, 32 times the size file.

Nice one! Was it heading south for the winter? ;) I seem to recall seeing it in Florida in January a few years back...

Something that went obsolete in the 90's, but is the only option for some people.

Great day, wasn't it! I was up in the Faichild, doing an A2A photo sequence, observing the first flights of an Ornithopter, and then landing at the farm to help my brothers stock our Father's woodpile.

Were you with Cam in the Fleet?

Dave

Hey Dave.

Cam's Fleet has the mags out of her right now and he just brought home a new engine to mount.

My ride was the Tiger Boys Fleet...CF-GER with Bruce Paylor in the front seat.

Cam was the passenger in the front of the Tiger.

Cheers,

Jeff
