It appears to be Tom Duffy's TBM... :(

My prayers out to whoever was flying it (I can think of two people) for a full recovery.

Looks like that plane is pretty much toast. Hope the pilot recovers fully.

The most important thing is that the pilot made it out alive. Plane is scrap. Anyone else notice that the last link refers to the Avenger as a small plane? Avenger and small just don't go together. I hope that the pilot makes a full recovery. Prayers and thoughts are with the family.

If Crozer does the job as well as they have in the past, Terry will make a full and speedy recovery. I never flew in the plane, but saw it many times and love the TBM!

Here's more wishes to Terry for that speedy recovery!

Here's some videos of the aircraft that I've shot over the years...

It pains me to see the pictures of the aircraft... it was one of my favorite warbirds but I'm glad to hear Terry made it out and hopefully will make a full recovery.

Sounds like the pilot should be ok, judging from the fact he got her down & he escaped. Wish him the best.

Sorry to hear about the plane- but at least the guy flying made it out. Glad he was where he was- this could have been a real nightmare had he been over a development with no landing facilities nearby & with a passenger...

Wonder what happened- Possible fuel fire caused by a problem with the fuel lines where the wing folds? They said he reported his left wing on fire.

There is no fuel carried in the outer wings, the only thing that is in the wings are the wing fold and flap hyd lines. There are tanks in the wing center section over the bombbay and in the wing stubs, it is possiable it was the center section that caught fire.
