This is the last in my series of 1970s slides. I hope you enjoyed them. My next visits to Harlingen was for the 1987 & 1988 AirShos.

My Dad had many hours as an FE on that C-97 in the last photo.

Have enjoyed them all. So cool to see the different color schemes they had back then. I was really pleased to see this one. It is probarbly N320 which later became N99426 and is currently stored in pieces. It disappeared off the map in the 70s before re-emerging in Florida in 1981. Possibly having been used by drug runners. It then wound up with Rik Luytjes in 1984, and he was a drug runner! Then later to his buddy Keen Edenfield who also ended up in jail for trafficking. After a couple of other owners it ended up with the Wayne County Sheriffs Dept. in Detroit. Now there's an Invader that I wish could talk...

This is great stuff!

How do you manage to get such clean scans? Seems like no matter how carefully I clean my slides/negs and the scanner, I always end up with dust specs.

Yes it is Douglas A-26C "Invader" (29149)(USAAF 44-35870)(N320)(On Mark "Marksman B")(Formerly N99426)

Steve it's not magic just PhotoShop. I too couldn't get all the dust spots by just cleaning the slides, although some slides had very few.
