I am wanting to do my bike up in a paint scheme reflecting the look of a WW II aircraft. I was thinking of something along the lines of airbrushed aluminium riveted tank with some scaled down nose art, some .50 cal foot pegs, ect. I saw an old hotrod that had been painted up like this on line a while ago, i think that it might have had something to do with swamp ghost, but i'm not too sure. Looked pretty cool though. Does anyone out there have any links to any sites that might have some pics of bikes that have been done up like this? Has anyone on the forum done this already or have any pics of bikes like this ? Just looking for some more ideas, and different perspectives. This is going to be a really cool project, and when the ball gets rolling i will post pics if anyone is interested. And yes, i will post a similar thread on the shovelhead site as well. Thanks, Sim.

Saw this one at an airshow over here a while back. Not a great pick, I know.

Just park it over a spot of clean concrete, in a very short time you can tell people it is doing a imitation of a WII radial engine...........................

thanks to all !! the pic that lest we forget posted is similar to what i had in mind. I want less chrome though. Gotta love those prop blades on the gunfighter wheels. Maybe 3 blades would look better if safety wasnt a concern . MY bike is an 81 shovel low rider. I would go with black shotguns done up like .050 barrels and a bit different pinup girl ( boobs) on the tank. I'm thinking some black lower forks with bladders on them. I would want to do something with the bars too. My engine is pretty much blacked out already. O/D might be another way to go as well. Any idea's ? More pics ? Keep em' coming of you got 'em !!
