Steve,

Those Skull Head P-40s are from the 89FS/80FG based at Karachi, India, in 1943--that squadron painted all of their P-40s that way (Some one correct me if I am wrong, but I think the whole group painted their P-40s that way). See Squadron/Signal Publication "CURTISS P-40 IN ACTION" by Ernest R. McDowell. My copy has a Skull Head P-40 on the cover. The P-40 in Jack's photo, Number 46, an be found on page 50. The book has several photos featuring these airplanes.

I loved to see a B-17 named "Stinky", that is what it says right?

I have a car I call stinky, the previous owner was a heavy smoker and the car stank something horrible, but it was cheap.

Need to clear something up:

The airplane on the cover of my P-40 book was based at Karachi (according to the caption) for a time, but the Skull Head P-40 photos on page 49 and 50 appear to have been taken at Naggaghuli, Assam, just like the plane in Jack's photo.

Id say its accurate to scale(1/144) and the diorama has come along way since this picture was taken.

If it was a N-1 it would only have 4 .50's. If I remember correctly. I See 6 in the photo.
